WHAT MADE IT TO BREAK DOWN?

Your dryer might be having faults due to a lot of things. The heating element might be bad or the thermostat is broken, the drum seal might not be working or the thermal fuse has spoilt. The motor might have seized or the problem might be with the drum support rollers, or the belt is tired. The ignitor might be the problem, if it’s a gas dryer.

If your dryer is not coming on, and there’s need to identify the problem, a live voltage test might be required. This test is not a DIY procedure and it should be done by an expert or someone with experience alone.

ISSUES INVOLVED IN REPAIR AND TROUBLESHOOTING

THE DRYER IS NOT COMING ON

A disruption in your power supply caused by a bad power outlet, damaged switch or weak wiring most times is the reason why the dryer is not coming on. Your power supply might have been cut off due to a fuse or breaker tripping. You can go through your fuse box to know if your breaker is bad, but if the problem still remains, then there might be something more causing the problem. That can be fixed by us

We’ll replace the terminal block if it’s broken, but a live voltage test has to be done for troubleshooting. The problem might be from the start switch, the door or the thermostat, if it’s not the terminal block.

THE DRYER IS MAKING LOUD HUMMING OR SHARP NOISE

The reason your dryer noisy might be due to some elements that are old. It might be the main belt, the blower wheel, the drum support roller or the glides at the drum end. A lot of this can be changed.

THE DRYER IS NOT HEATING

A bad airflow might be the reason why the dryer is not heating. Try and clean the air duct, if it doesn’t work, an equipment called the thermal fuse that stops the dryer from getting too hot might have slipped and completely stopped the heat. For the dryer to heat again, they need to change the fuse.

You might need to get a new heating element if it is not conducting or is broken. If this does not solve the issue, the problem is probably with the thermostat, timer or temperature switch and you need to change them.
